Message from the President |

Regarding the philosophy of managing the university, Professor Dr. Ping-Kun CHIU said that NTSU is more than a sport university. NTSU plays an important role in promoting national image through athletic competitions and academic achievements. NTSU also plays a leading role in fulfilling the sport value and guiding the thinking of physical education by combining resources from the community and alumni. NTSU is also striving for a modern campus with a people-oriented approach as well as commitment from the faculty, students, administrative executives, and distinguished alumni. To reach the above-mentioned goals and fulfill his idea of managing the university, Professor Dr. Ping-Kun CHIU has planned to turn the university into an institute that focuses on cultivating elite athletes in Asia and in the world by connecting the university functions of training, education, research, and service. His policy-based management includes seven major aspects: NTSU Think Tank (a leader in physical education), NTSU Value (the base of professional sport function), Innovative NTSU (increasing the value of sport marketing service), Olympic NTSU (the institute for training elite athletes for the world’s sports competitions), NTSU Lohas (maintaining a healthy lifestyle with good physical activity), Efficient NTSU (financial soundness, mutual trust and self-discipline, and professional respect), and NTSU Ethics (passing the torch to the new generation). Professor Dr. Ping-Kun CHIU said that we take pride in providing educational programs that have nurtured quality professionals for our country and in supporting the professionals for their dedication in their workplace. In the meantime and the near future, we will keep assuming responsibility our country has entrusted us with. We will follow the steps of our school improvement framework and keep moving forward to reach the next milestone in sport development for NTSU and Taiwan so as to make NTSU an internationally famous model institute of higher education that nurtures sport professionals. |
